CDS 2014:

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to conduct the CDS 2014 Examination. Here we are providing CDS Exam Pattern, Syllabus and Eligibility Criteria. CDS stands for Combined Defence Services and thisexamination is conducted by UPSC every year.

CDS Exam Pattern:

The UPSC conducts CDS exam in two phases:

• Written examination
• Interview/ personality test

A) For admission in IMA, INA and AFA:

B) For Admission in Officers Training Academy:

CDS Syllabus:

Paper 1: English

Reading Comprehension

Paper 2: General Knowledge

Knowledge of current topics

Knowledge of Indian History and Geographical issues

Economy of India

Current Affairs in business, politics, sports, entertainment etc.

Paper 3: Elementary Mathematics

CDS Eligibility Criteria:

A. Age Limitations:

• For IMA: 19-24 yrs.
• For Naval Academy: 19-22 yrs.
• For Air Force Academy: 19-23 yrs.
• For Officers Training Academy: 19-25 yrs

B. Educational Criteria:

• To apply for IMA / officers training academy: Any degree from any recognized university/ institute.
• To apply for Indian Naval Academy (INA): Engineering degree from any recognized university.
• To apply for Air Force Academy (ACA): Engineering degree from any recognized university/ institute with physics and math’s at 10+2.

CDS 2014 exam date

The first part of examination will be held on 9th of February 2014 and the second one will be held on 26th October 2014.
